Assemble the Exterior

With right sides together, pin the interfaced side/bottom to a front/back piece, aligning top corners and raw edges. Stitch together. Clip the curves within the seam allowance to ease fullness (see page 17). Attach the second front/back piece to the interfaced side/bottom in the same way. Press seam allowance toward the side/ bottom. Turn right side out and topstitch each front/back ¼″ from the seam line.

Make the Lining

With right sides facing, pin the pocket pieces together and stitch on three sides, leaving one short side open for turning. Clip the corners and turn right side out. Press under raw edges ½″ at the opening. Position the pocket on one lining piece as indicated on the pattern, and edgestitch on both sides and bottom. Stitch the remaining side/bottom to both lining pieces in the same fashion as the exterior (step 4), except for the topstitching.
